week twelve - fine-tuning

This week I decided to make changes to the materiality of my design. Previously, I chose materials that I thought best correlated and matched the materiality and visuals of the beads. However, I think by choosing darker, earthier colours that are very similar to the surface design of the main feature detracts from it. I, therefore, chose to make the surrounding materials consist of polished concrete, tiled slabs of concrete, grey marble, and accents of gold-brushed metal. I think this better emphasises the dramatic visuals and earthy colours of the beaded surfaces, while creating a strong and fortified atmosphere throughout the design.
